Flight schedule :

You can reach Bario by foot and boat but it will take about three weeks. The only practical mode of transport viable to Bario is by plane. MASwings a subsidiary of Malaysia Airline System (MAS), provides a daily flight to Bario, either departed from Miri or Marudi.

From Miri to Bario, it takes about 1 hour on the Twin Otter airplane. At Miri International Airport, each passenger can take in around 10 kg loads or luggages with them to fly to Bario. When passenger are from Bario airport fly back to Miri International airport, each passenger plus their luggage cannot be exceeded 150 kg. It is because the runway at Bario airport is very short.

Even tourist has bought a confirm ticket from Bario to Miri, they will still need to go to MAS office at the Bario market to write down their name into a log book when you want to fly back to Miri. This is because the plane has limited seats and MAS officer had decided that Bario citizen has the special privilege to get a seat on the plane than other peoples if they want to fly out to Miri. So, tourist need to reconfirm their air ticket at the MAS office 3 or 4 days before the departure date.

For oversea tourist upon reaching Bario, they need to go to the immigration department for some simple registration.
